I’m passing around a long weekend getaway to NYC during the weekend of the 8th Oct.
I had to check twice because I thought it was per ticket, but the four of us can fly round trip for $280 total.
I will have to pay $50 for two bags.

When it says $25 a bag, I’m guessing that is just checked baggage, not carry ons?

This is with United. Only two that came up are United and Spirit. Does Jet Blue not fly out of New Orleans to NYC anymore?

You need to check. Is it basic economy? Basic economy does not allow for full-size carryons nor does it give the the option to choose seats and sit together. It's whatever seats they assign to the party. If it is pay a little more for regular economy.

After starting this thread and doing some more research, we are moving it back to Mardi Gras weekend instead.
We basically want to do the typical tourist shite, plus a nice food tasting tour (China Town, Little Italy, etc).
My wife and youngest daughter have never been and me and my oldest basically spent about 36 hours there.
I looked at the weekend of Mardi Gras, Jet Blue still flies that route, it’s $750 round trip total, for the four of us.

Flew Juneau to Dallas and back for $500. Had to make a couple stops but that's about what I can fly to Seattle and back, normally.

Flights are super cheap and it's awesome, I can go Seattle to Chicago for $117, Miami for $174, basically most places for under $200. Getting to Juneau is $217 for Sept/Oct, I really need to take a trip up there while I'm living this way.

Do you foresee business travel picking up after the new year?

Definitely. The flight itself is like flightseeing on a nice day.

I like the milk run if I have time. The trip between Petersburg and Wrangell is only 20 miles and you fly less than 10k feet. Just spectacular.

Not sure about business travel as teams/zoom has really made it possible to be connected for much cheaper. I think its already picking back up but need to find numbers to back me up...

Roger, whats the milk run? Is it a quick flight between those 2 towns?

Milk run is the stop that connects multiple town via Alaska Airlines. Coming north, from Seattle to Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg and Juneau. From Juneau, Yakutat, Cordova and Anchorage.

Uniqueness of the milk run...

I remember when it used the 737-200 (later the 400 series) combi aircraft, half freight, half passengers. Those have been retired.

It does extend a two hour flight to 5 hours, but in a nice day is well worth it.

The girls that man the Wrangell airport sell tickets, load luggage and push the plane back.

I’m wondering if this is going to be short or long-term? Think of all the salespeople in various industries. Are teams/zoom going to replace relationship building and the traditional sales call?

Christmas flights are actually on the high side. But I bought anyway - with the empty seat policies they have the potential to go higher, or sell out. And if there is a better deal between now and Christmas I can bank the credit and use it later.
