Headed there for 3 days in November for a wedding. Never been to that area of the world. Staying right downtown next to their plaza. Anyone have any good tips?

Right on or near the square:

Troubadour for a sandwich, but get there early.

Walk in tasting at Marine Layer (on the square) if you like Pinot.

Barndiva is good for dinner.

Acorn Cafe for breakfast, but their sweet breakfast stuff can get a little cloying so go savory or split a sweet.

The Matheson happy hour is great and Rooftop 106 (part of the Matheson) is a cool dinner spot. The clear margarita is fantastic.

Costeaux French Bakery has excellent breakfast.

Bravas and Valette are both places that I've heard are excellent but haven't been. Bravas is tapas.

Enjoyed dinner at The Burrow as well.

Outside of town:

There are a million wineries within a few minute drive from there and Healdsburg is at the confluence of three AVAs with three very distinct specialties. Alexander Valley and their cabs, Dry Creek Valley and their zins, Russian River and their pinot/chard. So if you venture out, you'll be able to find something you like. We really like Passalacqua and Limerick Lane.

Amazing info and thank you! Do you recommend taking a drive to Jenner or the coast for a morning?

We haven't done that, only because the times we went to Healdsburg were 100% wine focused, but I would definitely check out the coast. I've hear Bodega Bay is really cool and less than an hour away. Sebastapol is a nice little town on the way.

I'm not familiar with Jenner, but it looks to be about the same drive time, but with more windy roads, which probably means more scenery. But everything up there is beautiful scenery.

Second a drive to Bodega Bay. Rides Wharf restaurant is on the water with good food. It is in Hitchcock’s movie The Birds. Watch for cows on the road. Been stopped a couple of times.

Armstrong Redwood State Natural Reserve is worth visiting. Same trees as Muir Woods but without the crowds. Also Zichichi Winery is owned by a Dr from NOLA.

If looking at wineries, try J Rickards. Only 13 minutes away and owned by my cousin. They are good people and the winery is small, but very well regarded. Google it and read the reviews.
