Nashville now
Weather is spectacular
we are staying a block from Broadway and 4 blocks to the arena and the ryman. We had a couple beers at ACME and enjoyed some music, then a really good pizza and excellent whiskey drinks at the stillery
Should be really fun this weekend with the show crowds. First time here and we really like it

Go to st Vito in the gulch area. Little hidden not far from downtown. Really incredible pizza and some killer traditional Italian small plates. Space is super tiny and has a great vibe. Open kitchen and friendly staff. The most unique pizza youll ever eat.

Thanks, Hog. Might give it a shot that Saturday for lunch.

I think Skull's has a $20 per person cover for the burlesque nights. The covers start at 9:00 and the actual show doesn't start until 11:00.
Skull's is a small venue so expect to be cozy if you don't have a reservation in the front dining area.
The bar area and standing room along the wall entrance will be full of people. Of note, the booths along the back side wall don't offer good views of the show.
Since you're already going to Bourbon Steak, the bar area has nice views of the city. If the weather is nice, they will open the glass sliding doors.
Another rooftop bar with good city views is Lou|Na on the 25th floor of the Grand Hyatt. Just take the right rear elevator from the lobby elevator bank. The Grand Hyatt is located a few blocks down Broadway across from the Union Station Hotel. It's a walkable distance IMO from the lower Broad bars. That bar opens at 3:00.

new heights brewing yesterday for a bluegrass show outside on the lawn then we ate at Martin’s BBQ mid afternoon
beers and scene at the brewery were great and martins is a very cool place. Everything we had was excellent. Billy at Bridgestone blew the roof off. Past two nites he’s had bela fleck, Sam bush, Bryan Sutton and Mickey Raphael sit in with the band
Can’t say enough about how much we are enjoying Nashville. I had no idea this place was so cool
Billy at the ryman tonight!

its a little played out and gimmicky but try the red phone booth if it hasn't been mentioned its near printer's alley; at least stop in for a cocktail.

Guests will need to secure an exclusive phone number from a member, concierge or friend and dial it into a restored London antique red phone booth to gain entry.
or you can just, like, enter their phone number (615) 915-3876
if you have a car, i might hit Old Glory instead in edgehill.

Butcher and Bee is one of our favorite spots. Gotta try that Iberian Pig now. Was it crowded? How was the service?

gotcha.
there's honestly so much compressed into the downtown area you should have no problem being on foot and no real need to venture too far.
the only thing i worry about is lately nashville downtown on fri & sat nights is a complete madhouse. we used to just wander into the various bars and have a drink and move on but now there's like a 45 minute wait to get into places when its busy.
germantown is so close, uber is a no-brainer...i think we're talking maybe 1-2 miles from ryman if that.
east nashville has some great places for lunch; just not sure they are worth the hassle of getting there & back vs just staying around downtown and finding somewhere there.
i'm at an age where i value having more time to relax over the hassle of getting in an uber to go across town & back just for a slightly better lunch spot.
my advice: stick to places on the list within walking distance as much as possible and enjoy the weather.

Iberian Pig
the happy hour is nice. 5 dollar (excellent) sangria and a great charcuterie deal. We added three tapas and it was perfect
Best meal so far though was the last. We ate lunch at etch before heading to BNA and it was incredible. Cheap too for as good as it is
nothing but great meals in Nashville and some really talented bartenders too; I’m not really a cocktail-er but the whiskey is good here

Yeah, we're fine walking, but will have to see what the weather is doing Friday night. Would rather wait a bit on an Uber and get there dry...and then getting back to the hotel to change, and then over to Skull's.
Saturday looks nice, so the 15 minute walk to Little Fib should be good, Ryman is so close at that point, and after...I guess we'll just try to find a place to post-up, but we don't hop around anymore.
Sunday looks to definitely be a walking around in the AM kinda day and then back home!

if you find yourself hitting the farmer's market in germantown saturday morning you have to do the holy trinity:
- Cup of crack coffee from Barista Parlor (you wont sleep for 2 days)
- Walk next door and grab a fresh ball of mozzerella from Lazzarolli (made fresh every Saturday morning and usually sold out by noon). Freaking delicious with a little salt & balsamic.
- Walk another block over and hit the Christie Cookies HQ and they'll generally sell you a fresh cookie for a buck or if you have kids in tow, they'll probably give them some for free.
Great way to spend a couple of hours on a beautiful Saturday morning in Nashville.
