Have any of you used any of the Business Class Sites for International flights?

Yes-I now -always book through the airlines because if anything happens you are at the mercy of some website and not the airlines. Still, getting a business class flight half price that you wouldn't otherwise be able to justify on a 15-hour flight has its appeal. Talk to me oh savvy and grizzled travelers...

Where are you finding 1/2 price business class seats? Seems like a scam IMO. Maybe you are referring to consolidators? If so, be wary because it is generally against an airlines terms.

I tried it a few years ago. It was a waste of time for me and haven’t tried it again since.

If you go on Kayak or other sites you will get pop ups for Skylux and other companies that offer half price business class seats. If you dig further you can read reviews that are mainly positive with the caveat that if a flight is delayed or you need assistance you have to do it through the company and not through the airline. It seems with the airlines that have multiple flights a day on these routes it wouldn’t be such a huge risk.I was just curious if anyone had actually done it here.

I've used SkyLux twice and it's been fine both times. It's been awhile, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Thanks for an informed answer. They are offering me a 2300 business class ticket issued within the airline system on a 2 leg Houston to Asia flight. Thats $5500 minimum from the airline and since it’s 15 hours from Houston to Tapei I’m considering it.
The other option is Eva Air economy premium for about $2500 which is what I will probably go with.

I have booked a main cabin or economy premium ticket before through the airline, then checked the airline website a couple of times a day to see about upgrading to business or first class for not much more. About half the time that works.

Yeah I’ve received emails asking me to bid and paid $400 for a $2500 upgrade. I’ve always been a coach guy on principle but getting old has made me soft.

That, and I sold my company and for my last few years worked for a company that flew me in business. It's hard to go back to coach from that. But business seats have gotten so pricy that I'm compromising at premium economy for my long haul travel. I've considered the discount business class re-sellers but there are just too many horror stories.
I recently booked a premium economy seat on Singapore Air - LAX to Singapore. That will be interesting. It turns out that they don't do anything less than Premium Economy on that flight. At the tail end of the plane it narrows down to just one seat on each side of the aisle. It's a bit more expensive but sounds pretty awesome, so I grabbed it both ways.

I’ve heard those are great seats. I’m thinking about EVA air because their premium economy seats are supposed to be good too and are 500-600 dollars cheaper.

What we've been doing on long haul flights when we can is economy there and business or first back. The adrenaline and excitement on the ay there is usually enough to make up for it but now the wife and daughter are asking if we can go premium there and first back.

Someone I know took EVA from LAX to Bangkok this year and was lucky enough to have them bump him up from economy to premium economy. He was really happy with it and was going to put in a bid on a premium economy seat on the flight back. He was very happy with EVA overall.

I’ve flown economy, premium economy and first/business on EVA.
The best way I would compare them is that PE is closer to economy than business. Food is very similar to economy but the seats are dramatically more comfortable. If you can grab PE for about 50-60% more than economy, it’s a good value but anything more than that and I’d lean more to economy one way and business the other. Business class on EVA is top notch. The service, the pod, the pajamas, the food.
