Visiting friends here....had no clue this place existed.... Rivals anything the Caribbean or Asia might have...

How's the weather this time of year?

I know they have seasons down in Sydney and Melbourne but Hamilton is pretty damn far north. Is it always summer there?

Pics of the "scenery"?

It is winter going into spring day 75-55f night...

Absolutely beautiful....will download pics when we return. Just found our go to spot. The island is the most beautiful place we have been. We have been to 38 countries. Whale watching, helicopter to the great barrier reef, snorkeling there. Unlimited excursion. Food 6 star. We stayed with friends from a business. We will stay at the qualea or beachfront resort when we bring the family back....

Safest placed on earth too..

Heaven...

Just make sure you charge up the electric buggies. Those hills do a number on the batteries!

You liked it here C? What was your opinion?

One tree hill is a great place to grab a alcoholic beverage and watch the sunset...

Did you stay on the island? I saw a few accommodations, but pretty pricey. Saw a few places on the mainland really close that were reasonable and maybe do a couple of day trips over.

We stayed on the island with a friend who owns a house and a condo. We understand it's not cheap. But well worth it. I have sent pictures to friends back home and they were all like " man I thought you were going to Australia "

You are looking at a hour to two hour ferry ride of you are staying on the mainland.

Look up the pictures online. And the resorts, I mentioned above. We will be back next week will post pictures then...

The Whitsunday Islands are BEAUTIFUL. My fondest memory of Australia was sailing the Whitsunday Islands for 1 week with a group of friends. One was a well seasoned skipper so he was able to read the sailing maps and island hop us. Whitehaven beach is consistently ranked one of the top in the world. Make sure you take a boat ride over to it from Hamilton Island.

Whole area is really beautiful. Airlie Beach has some really cool views as well if you’re looking for a cheaper option to explore from. Hamilton is really nice but haven’t stayed there in a decade.
