If you get to the amusement park when they open you can do everything in a couple hours. Lines get long around noon

Great post, did much of this myself in June.
I’ll say that Coral Pink Sand Dunes are fantastic if you’re already between Zion and Bryce, the yellow flowers are stunning.
Cedar Breaks are also really cool, and minimally crowded. About 10k feet, so also a break from the heat. Overlook scenery is like a mini Bryce.

Going to try and fit in Cedar Breaks. Don't have time for the Dunes. Thanks

West of Denver off I-70 is Mt Evans. Highest paved road in America 14100’ plus. Lots of bighorn sheep and mountain goats on the road going up and down. We have down it twice and enjoyed it both times.
This road is not opening this year due to covid.

My experience has been that me and the wife might be able to handle an aggressive itinerary like that. But kids? Nope. They will eventually tire, get cranky, and not get anything out of the trip. It will take away from their experience and your experience.
It sounds like this vacation is tailored for you without the kids in mind. They don’t have an adult’s stamina. It is best to make each day an easy day and wait until the kids are in their teens before taking a trip like that.

Tell her you will take her without the kids, y’all will have a better time...
Go alone with your wife to Vegas. It should be an adult vacation. 3 nights is plenty for y'all to see and do quite a bit. Please convince her to skip Vegas and spend more time in the mountains with the kids.

Yeah my kids are older and I wouldn’t even attempt that

This. Vegas to kids will be lost. And, the hiking and mountains are way better than a Dam Tour for a kid.

Trail ridge road in RMNP is a beautiful drive. Although it is in the opposite direction from Colorado Springs when leaving Denver

Kids actually seem excited about going to Vegas. Since I have never been there before am I missing something?

I'm with several of the posters. Kids may be excited about Vegas, but will they understand. It will also be really hot. Vegas is really for adults, although they do have some things catered to kids. Your wife will enjoy it so much more as adults only. Someone mentioned rafting on the Arkansas. We did it near Buena Vista, CO, and we had a great time. But I don't know about a three-year old. That could complicate thngs.

Leaving Sunday. Anything to worry about with Covid related closings?
