I got lucky. Applied and got approved, but no interviews were available anywhere. A week or so later I got an email about a one day interview event about two hours away. I nabbed an appointment.

While walking back with the agent to his workstation, the agent said “you know your password is nit valid, right?” My heart sank. He continued, “yeah, your passport isn’t valid until it’s signed.” Whew. CBP humor I guess.

We applied in May and still don't have our conditional approval. Our TSA pre expires next month and I hate to pay for it again since I've already paid for Global Entry...just sitting here on pause.

Global entry is only worth it if you transit through SFO/EWR, in my view. PreCheck entry has been closed (in the middle of the day, no less) in SFO for no apparent reason, and clearing customs nearly cost me a missed flight as I sat in line for nearly an hour to be able to board my connection to IAH.

This makes zero sense. Pre Check and GE do very different things.

Global Entry has saved me hours and hours on all international arrivals
