Brewery or winery near by that you would recommend?

Dining: both high class and bar foods?

Gonna be in town for Easter weekend. Looking for ideas, possible events.

I haven't spent a whole lotta time there, but I've found that "high class" restaurants and Ft. Worth really don't mix. One square block in Nola will produce vastly better and more innovative food than the entire city of Ft. Worth. Seriously.

That being said, FW does have some cool spots. The Woodshed. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't go. Seriously, The Woodshed is a must.
Rodeo Goat is a good spot for burgers. TexMex is abundant. Joe T. Garcia's is well known for their patio.

As for breweries, Rahr & Sons is out of Fort Worth I believe. They have a few more.

I'm not sure if you're willing to take the drive, but Revolver Brewing and Barking Rocks vineyard are 45-1hour West of FW.

Magnolia St. has some great places. There is a variety of dining spots as well as some bars. I like Chimera for the beers they brew and home made pizza. Fixture is a nice casual restaurant with a small bar in it.

There is Pouring Glory for a bar with a ton of beer options. Also, The Collective Brewery has some good beer.

Canton Chinese restaurant is the best Chinese food I've had. I prefer going there for lunch as it is less crowded and you can change things much easier than in the evening. They have a drink called the F'in Bob Barker that is a good summertime drink, although it is pricey.

If you want higher class (i.e. more expensive) you can go to a French restaurant called Saint Emilion. That is the single best meal I've ever had at a restaurant. Capital Grille is also good. Just went to Bob's Chop House and it was just okay overall, but the tomahawk chop was wonderful and well worth the total cost.

The wife and I try to get out to a nice restaurant in Ft. Worth once a quarter for date night. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer.

There are some great restaurants in Ft. Worth.

Ft. Worth isn't stuffy, you can wear jeans and boots anywhere and not be out of place. Even the "high class" places.

Del Frisco's, Grace, Reata are nice places downtown. Drinks at the rooftop bar of Reata is a great place to start.

As stated, Woodshed is a great place, and "scenery" is usually outstanding when the weather is nice.

I would stay away from Billy Bob's unless you think you must go. Try Fred's instead for a country hole in the wall.

Panther island brewing and rahr are both in ft. Worth. You could also do like the other poster suggested and go down to Grandury and hit up Revolver.

Eat at The Lonesome Dove, an excellent upscale bistro in the Stockyards area, then walk over to Billy Bob's for some beer.

Martin House is the best brewery in DFW but they are only open 2-5 on Saturday. I think they just released Friday IPA which is awesome. You may be able to find it at other craft beer bars. There is a nice Flying Saucer downtown with a good patio.

The Bearded Lady is a great craft beer bar in an old house and T&P Tavern is in the old, restored train station. You can still catch a train every few hours to Dallas there.

La Perla is a good place for margaritas, high end tequilas and a fresh take on mexican food.

El Asadero is the opposite.....old school hole in the wall mexican food near the Stockyards.
Personally, I wouldnt eat at Joe T Garcias.....its average at best. It does have a nice patio to have a few drinks.

Ft Worth has great museums. The Ft Worth Modern is cool and the Amon Carter is free and has a bunch of Remington and Russell paintings. The Kimbell is world class. The Japanese Garden is really nice too and well worth a couple of hours.
