Traffic congestion all around Tampa is a concern. I would stay in panhandle; Pensacola, Navarre area.

I found a Vero Beach vs Naples comparison. Obviously, there is more to the coasts than Vero and Naples, AND, the realtor doing the comparison is from Vero, so she is probably biased, but I think the video is spot on.

I thought the video was pretty accurate. I don’t get to Naples area often, but I always found it more desirable than most other places in Florida.
The whole calling Vero the Hamptons of Florida is quite the stretch IMO. I spend more time in Sag Harbor than other parts of the Hamptons but I don’t get the Vero comparison.

There are dozens of similar places in the area between Sebastian and Ft Pierce. Just went to Skipper's Cove for the first time, a couple of weeks ago.

I don't get the Hampton's of FL, either, but I think it's in reference to a couple of things:

1.) Folks from Miami come up here for low key and low stress time on the weekends or time off, much like the NYC folks go to the Hamptons.

2.) Building height restrictions. Ft Lauderdale, Palm Beach, etc, have 20 story condo buildings stacked 3 deep on the ocean as far as the eye can see. In Vero, we have two buildings taller than 4 stories, and they were built before the restrictions were put in place in 1977.

3.) Have you been to the area around Ocean Drive on the beach? The vibe is kind of Northeast beachy. Old wooden buildings, very walkable, and not cookie cutter.

Overall, there is a lot more redneck in Vero Beach than in the Hamptons. Earl's is a case in point, if you want to get trashy... I can just as easily go to 21st Amendment and Tuohy's for dinner, though.
