Will be there in late June and will have a day or two free to do things with the family, looking for fun ideas. Kids and 9 and 7.

The NC zoo is in Asheboro which is about 40 minutes south of Greensboro.
NC Weekend show about Greensboro
This is a link to a PBS show about Greensboro. About 6 minutes in it features activities kids might like.
There are other NC Weekend episodes on line about Greensboro.

Greensboro Grasshoppers minor league team has a nice stadium downtown. Former LSU Tiger Jared Jones is currently on the roster.
Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is a nice place to take a walk. Listen to the National Parks app for audio info about the battle. I went on a nice day, and there were tons of folks of all ages out enjoying the paths.
Old Town Draught House near UNC Greensboro campus has good burgers and such, and Yum Yum Ice Cream (and hot dogs) is next door for the kids to enjoy. Ice Cream joint has been around since 1906.
The Greensboro History Museum is free and terrific. AI says it: is a free, interactive, and family-friendly attraction in downtown Greensboro, offering hands-on exhibits suitable for children, particularly those aged 8 and up.
Their downtown parks are amazing compared to the crap we have in Louisiana. Clean, kid friendly areas, concert stage, food and beverages available. One day I went to hang out and read. There was a yoga class going on, and a bunch of moms with little kids showed up to watch some guy play guitar and sing kid songs. Check their schedule: LINK
For the adults, there are some good breweries in the area. Not all are open every day, so plan accordingly. Oden Brewing Company was my favorite. Cool old building with rocking chairs on the shaded porch.

I’d go to the Greensboro Science Center there over the zoo. It’s big and probably one of the better places we’ve taken our kids.
Plenty of cool exhibits inside, has an aquarium, and the zoo portion on the outside is pretty good and has a bunch of animals that the NC zoo doesn’t have (tigers, red pandas, lemurs)

I live here and will echo the recommendations of:
- LeBauer/City City Park
- Greensboro Grasshoppers game (check schedule for post-game fireworks, which are surprisingly good)
- Greensboro Science Center
- Greensboro History Museum (within walking distance of the downtown parks and a nice diversion to learn about the city you’re visiting. I believe it's free, so no feeling of commitment to stay longer if you're not enjoying it)
Children’s Museum is great but my kiddo had pretty much aged of it by age 7-9. Guilford Military Park is also great, but did not interest my kiddo at that age. (I do agree it’s a nice place for a walk). We revisited at age 14, and it was still “boring”. YMMV depending on your kids’ interests.
The International Civil Rights Museum is phenomenal (also done at age 14, and she still talks about that years later). But there’s some heavy stuff in there so consider your ages (and perhaps look into a youth tailored tour?).
Check out Bourbon Bowl (bar + bowling) and/or Boxcar Bar + Arcade downtown for something adult-friendly while still entertaining the kids.
There’s a big water park just outside of town – Wet & Wild Emerald Pointe.
