Pretty excited about this. A lot of people are too. Debating making a weekend out of it. Out of the totality zone by only 90 minutes or so. We can drive somewhere that morning. Or we might get a room Sunday night in Dallas then drive northeast from there. Hotel prices in DFW aren't as expensive as I thought they would be.

No, but we traveled about 3 hours to get into the path of totality for the 2017 eclipse. We had fun, and my daughter (then 7, now 14) still talks about that time her parents drug her to an eclipse and gave her moon pies and Sunny D for snacking. I'd do it again, but we aren't that close for this one.

Heading to Dallas. Have a toddler so we’re buying tickets through the zoo. Should be a fun day.

Friend offered his house in Fredericksburg so we’re going to make a long weekend of it. Possibly drive back on Tuesday

Going to Arkansas. Was less than inspired last time with <100% totality. Keeping the kids outta school for it. Booked a place but haven't really planned much other than that. Any tips are appreciated.

Yes, flying to St. Louis where my brother will pick me up. We'll drive south or east, depending on cloud cover. We saw the 2017 eclipse together and it was literally the most awesome thing I've ever seen. If it's too cloudy around St. Louis then we'll cancel. Probably 50/50 odds so fingers crossed. Taking a scope and camera with a good zoom and will try for some photos. Have protective film for both. The film comes off when in totality.
