Is it suggested to get pesos to use in all inclusive in costa mujeres? If so, best place to get them there

been to Cancun a few times in talking to the bartenders they prefer pesos but hardly anyone ever uses them. So dollars it is
He said they get kinda screwed on the exchange…sometimes the resort does it and sometimes they have to go to the bank.
Anyway if you get pesos get the 50 and 100 peso notes those are about 3 bucks/6 bucks
