Took my kids when they were 8 and 5 and it’s our favorite trip ever
I saw moms with babies strapped to them. Don’t get that but it’s your money. Dealing with naps and diapers and feeding all day. Not my cup of tea but go for it

Took my kids when they were 4 and 5. Had a good time, but they have never once asked to go back. Fine by me

Personally, I think Disney is a great trip that everyone should have the opportunity to do at least once as a family (if they can afford it). I know that can be tough finding the right time, especially if kids have a wide range of ages.
I have no issue with the yearly or more Disney trip and Disney cruise people, especially if you live in Florida and can get the in-state rate. But to a person, all of the parents I know who go frequently are big Disney fans themselves and do it as much for their enjoyment, even if they say it is for their kids.
Disney isn't dumb, they aren't marketing to 5 years old, they are marketing to their parents, and its worked for decades.

I think you hit the nail on the head. My wife and I both grew up going regularly and now we like to take our kids regularly. They enjoy it, but we do it for us as well. It has a nostalgia factor of seeing our kids do things we did as kids that we really like.
I can also acknowledge that it's a very difficult and expensive trip for the one time visitor. There's a lot to learn in order to maximize your time and it can be really overwhelming. I understand why a lot of people are one and done.

My sons first time was when he was almost 2. They remember more than you think. We still go every year and he still enjoys it.

And, they're free under three years old.
