Denver/Breckenridge/Vail August Things to Do

I'll be flying to Denver in August for a wedding. Renting a car and staying in Breckenridge Wednesday night, staying in Vail Thursday-Saturday night for the wedding. Looking for recommendations for hiking trails, waterfalls, and things to check out between these areas.

Mt Evans exit is before you get to Breckenridge - worth the drive or some sort of hiking.

I ate at two restaurants in Beaver Creek Ski Village last summer. I’d recommend both. The Metropolitan and Tuscanini

In addition, I’ll be making a few trips to CO again this summer, and I’m eyeing the Ten Mile Range for hiking near Breck.
Specifically the Quandary Peak area...should be great views of the divide beyond Leadville to the west.
If you’re willing to drive to Yampa from Vail the Flat Tops Wilderness and Devils Causeway awaits you. We were thoroughly impressed. What a thrill!!

Mohawk Lakes trail is awesome as long as you're in decent shape. Two lakes at the top that are gin clear and you'll probably see mountain goats at the top. Quandary Peak is a good 14er, but I don't know if I'll be doing it again. I live in south LA and was sucking air at the top. Both are less than 5 miles south of Breckenridge.

And if you go past the Flat Tops, go check the Zirkels Wilderness. Tucked away in NW Colorado. Absolutely amazing and much less crowded than most of the state.

We plan on getting up to Mount Zirkel this year. Got all the way to Clark last year, but stayed around Steamboat for the day. The Rabbit Ears area was beautiful though.

Outer Range Brewery in Frisco is legit. Great beers and brewery right off I70 before heading over to Breck. Cheers
