I was only speaking on behalf of a Chicago dog that someone asked about. Bangers and Austin's Street Wieners are my two favorites in the city for one. They don't have to be yours - Feel free to jump in with your suggestion.
Not as good lists as Beer Temple, Hopleaf, Beermiscuous, etc., but those are S tier beer bars in Chicago. Bangers still a great place to drink (especially at night), as it's always been. Haven't been for a few weeks but really nice list currently.

Trying to explain this to people not from Chicago is like trying to teach Helen Keller to read Shakespeare. Especially people that live bewteen Beaumont TX and Los Angeles. They hear "chicago" and "mexican food" and scoff like the only thing there is Taco Bell and Baja Blast.
Um no.
Some killer Mexican food (not mexican american either) in Chicago. Far better than most SEC states.

When I lived in the neighborhood we were partial to the Blues bar that was just up the street from Kingston Mine's, also on Halsted. Did that place close? I think it just had a sign outside that said "Blues".

aliveOne, maybe? If so, still there. Haven't been in awhile! They do a mix of jazz, DJs, funk, etc. Fun place.

B.L.U.E.S. It closed a couple years ago.

My wife and I had Quesabirria Jalisco in Pilsen. Incredible food there, I can’t wait to go back when we return to Chicago one day.
