Like many others on here,I have tons of e-credits on the airlines. When booking trips, I have been tending to book two one-way flights to my destination and the same for the return. There is no cancellation policy for the airlines besides cancelling roughly 30 min before flight time to get your e-credits back so there's a lot more flexibility now.

So tomorrow I can either go on AA through DFW or Delta through ATL to get to Baton Rouge. Delta flights looks nearly completely full (potentially oversold) but I have seats assigned. AA I do not have seats assigned so it would come down to the gate (10 unassigned seats on the seat map currently SEA-DFW mostly middles, 8 unassigned on DFW-BTR but all extra legroom or exit row seats). Flight times are nearly the same- 6:15am on Delta, 7:30am on AA.

So I ask the travel board, what would you pick?

With the way Nicholas is going I’d go through ATL.

Thanks y'all . I was leaning towards Delta over AA but it's a little bit of a longer day and with limited flights from ATL--> South Louisiana I was questioning my decision making a bit more than normal.

I’ve found Delta to be the best US airline I’ve flown lately both international and domestic.

Agree with above in general, Delta with one kicker: their credits were extended to end of next year where AA didn't extend theirs. So all else (mostly) equal I'd like to spend my earlier expiring credits. Although 6:15 and 7:30 are not "the same" flight times do me, I wouldn't want to wake up any earlier than I have to

Yeah I woke up on my own at 330 this morning, not dead yet. Just got to Atlanta and those winds between 10,000' - 15,000' to the west of the airport are nasty today, moderate turbulence which made the landing not fun. Pouring rain here, can't wait for the next CRJ-900 flight directly into the storm...

Dallas resident here. Avoid AA like the plague. I fly SWA out of Love almost exclusively.

EXP here with AA, and have had zero issues whatsoever going through DFW these last few weeks.

Bumping this thread because I'm in the same boat again today as my flights down here and trying to decide who to take again . Except today we have oversold flights on both airlines.

Both are 430pm flights

AA- BTR-DFW-SEA with Baton Rouge to Dallas being oversold/looking for volunteers

Delta- MSY-ATL-SEA with Atlanta to Seattle being oversold and Atlanta having thunderstorms most of the day. Currently looks like ATL has a red thunderstorm dot overhead

Been surprisingly lucky this weekend so will see if I can make some $$ and still make it back tonight

I’m quite a bit north of the airport but it’s not bad here at all. More drizzly than anything.

That's good, sounds like they're not not widespread t-storms. For the past 1.5 hours though it looks like the airport area has gotten hit pretty hard with more widespread rain showing up this afternoon. I also see you're under a flash flood watch...

I'm leaning Dallas today but want to see if Delta oversells ATL-SEA even further. 18 seats available, 21 on the 'standby list' aka basic economy. No easy way to see how much AA is oversold out of BTR, but they're starting at $375 for volunteers. I may opt for $750

Ya I’m probably 50 miles north of the airport.
