Driving down from NC to Columbia on Friday to take my 9-year old to watch the Tigers play the Gamecocks in volleyball. Any recommendations on what we can do on Saturday morning/ early afternoon before heading back home? Just mom and daughter. Husband is staying home.

Is she too old for Edventure?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. If there are any "must do" restaurants downtown for dinner before the match and/or lunch on Saturday, please let me have those too. (Though there is a football game on Saturday, as I suppose everything will be crowded.)

Riverbanks Zoo

It is one of the nicer zoos in the southeast.

She will be borderline too old for EdVenture, but the Zoo will be great. We went last night for the first time in a couple of years, and it was awesome.

Tons of good restaurants in the Vista and Five Points - depends on what you are in the mood for. You could also check out the Soda City Market on Saturday morning. It is a street festival on Main Street that takes up several blocks every Saturday morning. They have food, craft vendors, souvenirs, stuff like that. Usually has some live music, and if the weather is nice, its a fun place to kill a couple of hours.

Congaree National Park has a nice boardwalk and a few short trails, it might be too hot for that this time of year though
