Man, the Gore Range is something else. I stood atop Buffalo Mountain two springs ago, and looking into the heart of the Gore was just insane.

I know quite a few people in Colorado that hold the Gore Range in a special place in their heart.

I realize now you were asking for a specific hike. I’ve heard good things about Red-Buffalo Pass from Silverthorne To Vail as a backpacking trip.

It really is. We did a 12 mile loop on the east side of the range with great views of the Eagles Nest a few weeks ago.

I'm heading up again twice in July and have pinpointed the east side of the Holy Cross Wilderness to have some hiking fun. Not sure we can do Notch or Holy Cross though...have you bagged either of these?

I'll keep that in mind. I'm sure it's easy to uber back on I-70.

We'll probably do a 2-3 day backpack up by you in late July/early August. Rawahs or Zirkel area.

I have not done anything in Holy Cross unfortunately.

I actually made a move north to the Tetons and Jackson Hole. Got an incredible full time year round job opportunity and made the move in April.

Looking at the Tetons on my morning drive is not bad at all.

ha! Doesn't get any better than that. Probably the most stunning range in North America.
Congrats
