I’m looking for a smaller camera with a good compromise of features for travel. Looking for wide to good tele zoom and low light capable.

Have an old canon S110 that the battery is weak on and my 5dmk2 isn’t travel friendly. TIA.

I used to have good, state of the art, Cannon cameras with all of the special attachments. I still do but I never use them anymore.
Now, why bother?
My cellphone takes excellent pictures and is so much easier.

I'm at the same point, except a Nikon user. I like having my full frame DSLR, but as I get older, traveling by air, or hiking with all that extra weight is something I want to get away from. I've considered a mirrorless body, but that doesn't offer much of a weight advantage, unless you switch to all mirrorless lens, and even then, it's still heavy. But when you've been into photography for 50+ years, you know a phone, regardless of how good they might seem to a causal user, don't really cut it for everyone.

So now I'm looking at APSC or Micro 4/3's as possible travel solution: lighter weight, smaller size, lower cost generally. Of course, as you move to smaller sensors you lose some low light capability, but with the newer in-camera and lens stabilization some of that can be overcome. Also, some of the denoising software routines have gotten so good.

Here's an interesting article form F-Stoppers that looks at each camera manufacture. https://fstoppers.com/gear/10-controversial-camera-brand-opinions
