No but like any big city, use your dang head. If something seems wierd, take a pass. At that age I drank a bit and that's a problem, too.

When I was there the younger crowd all hung out near Plazoleta Ramon Carcano and a few other places, but I didn't party much anymore. I seem to remember a clubby bar called the red door.

I've been there in June, spent some time in Cordoba dove hunting, and a few days in BA. The good news is that the weather is wonderful. The bad news is that it's winter there and it's kind of dead. I didn't mind that so much as I wasn't really looking for late night clubbing scene.

Walk through the Cementario de Recoleta I think it's called. There are some amazing tombs, like Eva Peron, many with photos or engravings of the deceased. It's kind of bizarre, but also kind of cool. It's been about ten years since I've been, but we had dinner one night at Fervor, which was very good.

Any recommendations for an authentic gaucho/Argentinian bbq style outing near Buenos Aires? Maybe horseback riding at a ranch, then wine drinking and eating bbq around the fire? Not looking for an Argentinian Dixie stampede. More of a low-key estancia would be preferred.

Did Buenos Aires a year ago with my daughter. They are getting crushed by inflation.

Hired a private tour guide for the day. Don’t regret it at all. Lay down a bit of shoe leather in combination with a driver and you can see a lot.

Far and away our favorite restaurant was Fogon Asado.

Hit the Recoleta, Palermo and Caminito.

Bring $USD. Things can be much cheaper if paying in American cash.
