Headed to Brussels for 3 days at the end of June en route to Italy. Nothing planned as of yet other than our arrival/departure times.

AmEx FHR/Hotel Collection is only showing 4 options total and MArriott doesn't have a ton of choices either.

Any advice on hotel recommendations and must see sights?

-Liege waffles are way better than Brussels/Belgian waffles.

-Skip the Atomium.

-Go sit at a cafe/bar in the Saint-Gery area during the early afternoon and have a few beers.

Try not to be weirded out by the co-ed bathrooms.

I enjoyed Delirium Cafe as a bar, they hold the Guinness World Record with 2000 beers available.

If you enjoy history/war museums, the Royal Armed Forces museum was amazing, biggest WWI displays I have seen anywhere.

Brussels is my least favorite European city, but the plaza is probably the prettiest in Europe. Other than that, if you are a beer geek you can go tour Cantillion or 3Fountaine. You can also hop on a local train and be in Ghent or Brugges in under an hour.

Mannekin Pis is not really worth seeing imo, I had more fun at The Atorium and the surrounding gardens. Also checked out the Armed Forces Museum along with the myriad of ancient churches. Go to the mall, watch them make chocolate, any of the parks.

See Grand Place in Brussels then visit and stay in Ghent or Bruges

I've heard good things about Bruges but definitely need to look into it more

Brussels is very underwhelming. But these 2 cities are incredible.

Sounds like a day to see Brussels and then day trips to Bruges and Ghent are our best bets

Hey i have a few pointers/input but also i stalked you from your LSU Texas License plate thread and figured i'd take a shot asking you somethin on it!

I've not been to any of those major cities listed but if Brussels (Manneken Pis statue is the landmark i know is famous there) is anything like Liege, i recommend being careful as that city was very sketchy, we did a day trip there from where we were at, Tongeren, which if you have time is a nice little city that has a huge antique market on Sundays. We were stationed in Germany and went up there with friends and filled up a uhaul and now have some nice finds here in the states for cheap!

Where in Italy are you going, been all over there and might have pointers, if you are up north I have Austrian recommendations as my wife is Austrian!

Question for you, would you by any chance be willing able to have a license plate wind up missing and need to replace it! Texas Application for Replacement License Plate(s)
I have a huge license plate collection and am starting a LSU row, the new Texas one is a must have for me and I'm obviously willing to foot the bill.
