I finally got around to posting Walvis Bay, Namibia. The day was a fun one filled with riding in a vehicle up and down HUGE sand dunes. At the end of the blog see if you can identify our tour guide.

We had eight hours in Boston as unscheduled stop due to engine issues in Halifax which then caused us to miss our last two port stops in New York City and Charleston. The eight hours were in the evening so we decided to do a ghost and cemetery tour, along with taking in the fireworks show later in the evening.

Got the blog finished by adding our last three sea days and the one remaining port blog which was out visit to The Cotswolds. We will put together one more post for the blog to provide a summary of the World Cruise with some statistics and also our thoughts on what went well and what was considered a failure.

Hey, thank you for the shout out. No, the cruise we took earlier this year to go around the world was on the Oceania Vista.

Now, we did cruise on the VVR Odyssey in June 2025. The concept of a residential cruise ship interested us and before doing any type of investing, we decided to cruise on the ship to check it out.

Obviously, we did not purchase a cabin. But we made friends with some of the residents, and I have been in communication with them. It is a tough situation for them and anyone else involved with the decision.

We are doing a cruise starting in February 2027 Auckland to Vancouver. I might do the blog thing again. I was surprised back home at how many people were following the blog and asking about doing it again.

This is certainly the truth as we did grab many meals (lunch) in ports. If we were overnight in a port, we would usually have dinner on land also. Now, sadly I am taking Mounjaro (dropped 80 pounds) so meals were not a big deal on 120-day cruise. But I agree with you that meals on a ship for 120 days can get boring and redundant with meal plans rotating every 14-21 days.
