Don't see this one on the board too much.

GF and myself find ourselves in Michigan this weekend and are going to take a 2 hour drive to Cedar Point. It's a Saturday afternoon in July the only day we can go. Is it a must to get the Fast Pass ($150) if we want to actually ride everything and enjoy ourselves? I haven't done a theme park in probably 8 years. I was a roller coaster geek growing up but could never convince the family to book a trip to Ohio.

It's one day and I'll probably never be back. Leaning yes but if anyone has some advice against it I'm all ears. Anything else I should know?

It's widely regarded as one the best amusement parks in the country, so it's probably worth a trip if you really like amusement parks. Though this site says it'll be packed...

I've been but it was over 20 years ago.

It’s always packed this time of year. Go early and yes if you want to ride everything you get the top tier pass. Best collection of roller coasters in one place in the world.

I've been.

You better get a Fast Pass on a summer Saturday. You made the right decision.

Water rides usually don't have long lines if you like those.

I did two days that way. One day doing water rides without fast pass and hitting some of the lesser popular rides and one day using fast pass on the big stuff.

Sandusky is a sad town but the biker bar on the lake is a people watching must.

It's the roller coaster capital of the world, so yes, you should go. Maverick is the best roller coaster I've ever been on.

Went back during Memorial Day.

Take some dramamine before hand. Those rides get rough as hell.

Definitely worth getting the fast pass. We went on the Tuesday after Memorial Day and it was still pretty busy. Didn't need a fast pass but some lines were about 30 minutes long. I would recommend the fast pass for sure.

Try like all hell to ride the Steel Vengeance coaster first thing. That line will be massive but it the best ride I've ever been on in my life!!!

You don’t need a fast pass like some parks but it’s a good buy especially if you are on a time crunch

Went yesterday. Amazing theme park. Fast lane plus 1000% worth the extra money, I probably would have gotten 2 coasters in without it. Was at the park for about 8 hours and rode Steel Vengeance, Valravn, Millenium Force, Gatekeeper, Magnum 2000 and Top Thrill Dragster. Magnum was very rough but all the others were top notch. Steel Vengence was probably the best I’ve ever ridden. Did have issues with some rides going down throughout the day but it wasn’t an issue with the Fast Lane.

Already want a return trip. Maybe during the week with an overnight stay.

Forgot that one. Was a little underwhelming 15 mins after Steel Vengeance tbh. Good coaster but I don’t see the hype as one of the best in the country

There are some great towns on the lake that make a good trip up there. Also, a great park on the way is Kings Island, which is in Cincy about 3 hrs away. Has a bunch of coasters and two awesome wood ones.
