Anyone beach scuba dive in Orange Beach?

Heading to Orange Beach/Perdido Key next month and looking to do some diving. Don't want to charter a dive, just wanted to get some gear and walk out. Is there anything really to see from the beach? Or is a charter way better?

Aruba (international) or Panama City Beach, FL are going to be your best bet for diving options.

I don’t dive but I’ve never heard of anything to see walking out from the beach, and I’ve definitely never seen anyone try.

I think the only shore dive I have heard of down there is the Whiskey Wreck about 150 yards off the beach in Gulf Shores.
My understanding is visibility isn't all that great around it.

You won't see much more than sand.
However, the trench that runs between the first and second sandbar, especially off 30a in my experience, can hold some impressive fish.
If you just want to see some marine life it might be worth it.

Heading to Cozumel in July and Aruba in November. Plan on diving in both. Just wanted to get in some local areas first.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any shore dives that will have any visibility. I will say, if you end up deciding to go on a boat, diving the USS Oriskany is really cool. It is deep though to go further than the tower so have to be comfortable with that.
