We have a 9 and 12 year old. We would like to take them somewhere downtown where the wife and I could grab a beer and we could all listen to some live music.

We would get them out of there by 4:00 or so.

Robert's Western World allows all ages until 6:00, then they go to 21+. At least that's what the website says.

I think Tootsie's is all ages during the day as well, but can't confirm it on their website.

I would suggest Tootsie's for the historical connection to the Opry...it is across the alley from the Ryman and artists waiting in the wings would often step across for a drink while waiting for their turn at the mic.

If they allow kids, the very top floor of Luke Bryan’s place would be good. Pretty calm in the day and not super loud on the outside deck.

Most places on Broadway are family friendly until 6:00. When we were there last fall my 7 year old ended up singing Johnny Cash with the band at the Hank Jr bar.
