Well that lasted about as long as I thought it would....

With vacation travel strongly rebounding as more Americans are vaccinated against the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, several airlines are eliminating travel waivers put in place when travel evaporated during the coronavirus pandemic. The waivers allowed travelers to change or cancel tickets without the usual penalties to give skittish passengers confidence to buy tickets. Alaska Airlines labeled it a "peace of mind'' waiver. American and Frontier's pandemic waivers expired Wednesday, Spirit's expires Sunday and waivers at United, Delta, Alaska and Hawaiian are due to expire on April 30. JetBlue's expired on March 31, but the airline said Friday that it has extended it through May 31. Allegiant Air has an open-ended waiver, and fellow budget airline Sun Country Airlines reverted to pre-pandemic change fees last summer. Southwest Airlines does not have a basic-economy fare and has never charged change fees.

I'm not surprised. It was really nice while it lasted, but all the airlines are trying to get more $$. Not sure about you but I'm overall flying less than I had been, finding closer things to do

Flight prices are outrageous right now. I guess there is so much demand for travel right now but good lord it’s ridiculous

Agree, was looking for a quick trip in the near future and everything I was interested in was damn near 500 round trip, as opposed to previous to pandemic being around 300 this far out.

I still don't think they're flying the same number of flights that they were before COVID.

This is the explanation. While some cities have come back to near 2019 levels, many other cities are around 70% of their flight totals. Flightaware has some cool stats for each airport showing 2019, 2020, and 2021 numbers for flights

Take Seattle for example scroll down a bit for the graph

May 3rd
2019- 1198
2020- 367
2021- 966

Now the flights out of Seattle could be empty, but at least schedule wise it looks like 80% of where they were in 2019.

New Orleans link here
2019- 401
2020- 98
2021- 253

63% for New Orleans in comparison for that specific day

Right as Delta changed my flight time by an hour and fifty minutes later.... Making my connecting flight 20 minutes bow instead on an hour and a half

Screw them all. They are so disconnected from the customer they do not deserve the business they get.

Well the good news is you can pretty much pick whatever flight you want now since that's an illegal connection. Where you going to/from and the date?

Yup, I'm in agreement. No more chasing status on my end, especially on delta given their political stances. Why an airline feels the need to do that crap is beyond my understanding. I couldn't even get an orange juice or a ginger ale on my last flight on them

SW for the win once again... hands down most customer friendly airline in the US.

Yes boarding can suck if you don’t have status, but love the RR program and 0 change 0 baggage fees.
