I'm a single guy and looking to take a cruise because I've never been on one and I've heard they were fun. Looking to depart from New Orleans and looking to go for about 5 days or so. Looking for towards the end of February if possible.

Cruises are a blast. Just don’t go on the cheapest cruise you can find. The people will be horrid

Taking my first cruise ever in May, it's an Alaskan cruise though. After being in the Navy I am not exactly excited about it, but it's for my mom.

I go on cruises for the cheap transport to dive destinations. 5 Day cruises out of nola can be relatively inexpensive but most of the itineraries will be the same.

Cozumel
Grand Cayman
Belize
Roatan -Honduras
Jamaica
Guatemala
Progresso

The more ports the better IMO. Carnival is the regular ship with Norwegian every now and then. Royal Caribbean is rarely out of Nola.

I usually go in November with whatever vacation days I have left to waste. In the past, we have done 5 day trips as low as $250 a person.

5 days out of NOLA will likely only get you to Cozumel and Progreso. But I've done that trip a few times and it's not bad. I for one love cruises. Keep an open mind - not everyone has the same ideas and opinions you do.

I've been on 2 cruises(not counting Disney) and they're not for me, but if you can't have fun on one then it's on you. My advice is research which ports interest you most, book a cruise that stops at those places, then book excursions far away from the port to get away from the crowds.

I"ve been on 11 cruises. Never had a bad one. I always cruise in either April or May. No hurricanes nor cold fronts. Try to take one out of New Orleans that goes to either Key West or Jamaica. Only 7 day cruises go to multiple ports. Cozumel is a good port. Don't expect a cruise to be a place loaded with poon. Most are couples or elderly. Not exactly a pick up spot.

Being single you will pay a premium because rooms are based on double occupancy. It would be much cheaper to find someone to go with you

Look into Norwegian, they have options for solo cruisers on some sailings. Less than 2x price.

Norwegian also has interior rooms designed for solo travelers with access to a dedicated lounge.

Carnival has really good deals for solo travelers if you want to book last minute. I recommend taking the Breeze out of Galveston.
