Have next week off and no plans. Want to take the wife away but want to drive. Looking for something with a nice pool/lazy river where the drinks are flowing. Maybe spa and golf course. Willing to drive a bit from Baton Rouge but not fly. Ideas?

Yea, those two things do not go together.

The Pearl is about as close to BR as you’ll get. I don’t think they serve drinks around the pool, but certainly don’t mind if you BYO.

Yeah, not in this area of the country anyway.

OP, look into the Grand Hotel in Point Clear. It's one of the few "resorts" that are nice and within an easy drive of BR.

Misnomer…it’s gonna cost a helluva lot more than that.

Hollywood casino in Bay St Louis has a lazy river with swim up bar, huge pool, and a golf course. Not sure about the spa.

The 2 casino resorts in Lake Charles have nice pools/bars/golf.

Got watch out for the crowds though- you might think you are in El Paso if you get my drift.

Probably true. Every time I’ve stayed there it’s been free with points.
All places are of course still stupid expensive. Wife looked up Hollywood Casino for one of the upcoming weekends and it was $410 per night. LOL
