Are you staying on the canyons Village side or the Park city Mountain side?
Staying right of Main Street so closer to PCMR

You’re only option for ski school at Park City will be to go through park city mountain unless you want to travel to Woodward or somewhere like Brighton. If you got epic day passes you can get a discount on their lessons.
We will have EPIC passes. What am I looking at cost wise for 8 and 6 year old ski school?

For family activities we’ve always enjoyed at least one night down, walking around Main Street, souvenir, shopping, and dinner at Annex burger. The wife and daughter usually make one trip to the outlet malls. One year we went tubing over at Woodward and that was fun, but it can get pricey. The schedule will come out later, but they are likely to have live music at one of the two resorts and I know there’s fireworks that happen over on the canyons village side as well. I think on Friday nights.

Last year, a one day lesson for ages 7-14 with the epic discount was $252.

On Main Street you may want to shop your rentals at Aloha Ski rentals as well. They have two locations, one slopeside on the PCM side and one right there on Main Street so it might make arrival day easier (and be cheaper) to get them from Aloha right there on Main Street. Normally you can find great rates online if you reserve ahead of time (cheaper then renting directly through Park City)

And oh, can I keep some beer in your fridge on the PCM side so when we're over there the same week I can just go fill up?

Do they allow you to store there at night for free as well?

Im almost certain the one slopeside will store them for free overnight. Skis and poles but not boots. I know for a fact the one on the Canyons side does and I've rented from the one on Main Street before but we didn't ask about Valet there. That was the one time we stayed at Deer Valley.

Eventually our paths will cross at the club and we'll chat more.

There's someone else I'm sure you know through the club that will be coming with me again this year and we'll be there Saturday and Sunday with no kids or significant others and always make a trek down to Main Street at least one night before they arrive.

Not sure if you will have a car but if you wanted to go tubing and you rented your skis from Aloha, you could save some real money by booking lessons there. You do some sort of combo like lessons in the morning and tubing in the afternoon. They sell food, have drinks and such so you could make a day out of and use the savings from ski school to pay for tubing

Interesting

So if we rent from Aloha they have a ski school/tubing combo for our kids?

And that’s at PCMR or we would have to go to Woodward?and yes we will have cars

Also, we are going with another family from the club too. Going to be 6 kids in total with us

8 yr old boy
6 year old girl
4 year old boy
3 year old girl
3 year old girl
3 month old unknown

We are bringing two babysitters with us though

Sorry, you could rent from Aloha then use those skis to take lessons at Woodward. Then, either before or after the lessons at Woodward do snow tubing. A 3 hour lesson at Woodward was like $160. Granted, the lessons at Park City were all day (like 9am - 2 or 3pm)

Took the year off to enjoy being a dad and spend as much quality time as possible with my 2 year old (I travel alot for work).

Now that he is old enough for ski school going to go hard this year

Getting Ikon (ugh)

Probably will use up all my days at Snowbird/Alta/Solitude

Have buddies who work for Vail Corporate (gay) so will probably ski a few days at PC

Hoping to do a guys trip to Silverton/Purgatory

Taos trip for Spring Break with the fam

If I can get around 20 days as an Atlanta resident, I am pretty happy.

Breakdown:

November: 2 or 3 days at Solitude, Snowbird, Alta (weather permitting)

December: Snowbird/Alta

January: Park City with Wife

February: Park City with Wife and Kid
San Juans Guys Trip

March: Taos

April: Snowbird/Alta

May; Snowbird/Alta

I'm starting to plan an early solo April trip to Breck which would be my first trip there so leaning Peak 8 since it's so late in the season.

I know it's impossible to predict with certainty but what would be the chances of Lower 4 O'Clock and Snowflake being open to ski down in the afternoons in early April (5-12)?

Booked a VRBO close to Peak 8 right by the Columbine Pool. Pretty basic but it's just me so I don't mind walking a little to the lift. What I started doing last year was bringing a backpack to the main lift and leaving a few beers, snacks, sandwiches, etc. I TSA lock the backpack zippers closed and then bike lock it to a pole or something.

In the morning I can just walk to the lift in my regular boots and then put on my ski boots when I get to the lift and throw my snow books in the backpack.

Snowflake will stay open through the second full week of April, possibly longer. Always has as long as I can remember.

I dont know exactly at Breck, but Copper is just on the other side of the range and very similar elevation.

Nothing is closed at the base that early.

Ikon and Mt Bachelor season passes:

Jan/Feb - Canada - Revelstoke, Panorama, Lake Louise/Sunshine Banff ~ two weeks.

April - US - Utah - Snowbird, Brighton, Snowbasin ~ two weeks

Mt Bachelor every day inbetween that I don’t have to climb a tree in the snow.

None here yet, but I can feel it coming. The winds of winter are upon us.

I did just come across this...

Ive got a few thousand feet elevation on ya.

Snowline was about 12000', maybe a hair lower. Surprisingly low for this early honestly.
