I have had shell bibs and jacket for years. I wear my bottom base layer(Smartwool thermal 3/4) always. I cant recall my legs ever being hot. Usually my feet get hot then the snow gets too soft and I leave.

Thats exactly my quandary. I hardly ever wear my 3/4 wool thermals and would prefer to not wear them...I'm just curious how low people can normally go on piste with shells and no base layer.

Well, I found a deal I couldn't pass up. $266 shipped so I'll test them out under different temps and report back. This is that time of year I start taking advantage of all the closeouts.

If I ever look like this goon though, somebody kick me in the shin.

I wear 2 layers, but thin. I spend most of the time borderline sweating or sweating a lot, and maybe slightly cold on the lift. When I have made the mistake of insulated clothes, layers end up coming off.

Wore a T-shirt under my jacket for most of this weekend skiing in Utah. Vents wide open by lunch, keeps things mostly cool enough unless I am going through some manky terrian at the end of the day. I have North Face bibs that are pretty thin but they also have vents.

Utah was awesome once again! Wasatch Powder House fixed my delam for $50 which was half what I was quoted at the first place I went to. Fix held up well for the last three days of the trip, really just want to get one more season out of the Rustlers.

Skied the Canyons side of PC on Saturday, it was a bit of cluster early at the base with the crowds but got a few cruisers in early while working my to 9990 which I lapped for the rest of the day. Charlie Brown held great snow while the lower east face had some steep chalky lines. Need to ski the PC side at some point and ski Jupiter.

Hit Snowbasin on Sunday, I forgot how long the runs are there. I did the short boot pack up Sister's Bowl and had a few awesome runs from the top of the ridge. Also did the boot pack to the mid-bowl cirque. It is a work out doing the hike, skiing some steep terrian and then having a ton of vert to ski down the bottom. The views are also spectacular at Snowbasin on a clear day!

Finished the trip with Brighton, more sun and this time a lot more groomers. Things did soften up at the end of the day which made for some decent turns down a few bump runs. I think it was 45 degrees when I left, Brighton always impresses with the terrian and views for what is a smaller resort.

Yeah well today was one of the deepest days of my life on resort in 26 seasons.

25 inches in 24 hours, no bullshite reporting.

Bachelor Lift Maintenance and Lift Operations could barely dig out the chairs. First chair opened at 11 instead of the usual 9am start.

Crews did everything they could to open the mountain.

I’m still trying to process everything.

Thank you Korua Pencil 147.

My woman had to lay down first tracks a few times in zones that I didn’t have enough speed/ steepness to plow through it all because she is on skis and has poles. She worked her arse off.

It was a scene up here. All the roads closed behind us so I guess about 2K got the country club day that I’ve been waiting for.

Life is good.

Awesome 1-72!

March has been good to the Wasatch. Several feet 2 weeks ago and again last week. I had one of my favorite days of the season a couple weeks ago at Snowbird. I rode the bus and got there right at opening (sorry Fargo). The scene was eerily quiet because cars were just getting let up the road from avalanche mitigation closure. Got to make a few runs with practically no one there.

Finally met up with Fargo around 11 and rode through the trees in Gad Valley. The snow was perfect in there. Made one run on Road to Provo after they dropped the rope and then had to bounce.

Got my son up his first lift real Sunday at Nordic Valley. I held him with a rope on the way down, but he did great.

Last Friday was a great afternoon run to Snowbasin. Flakes were falling and the visibility was rough at the top of Strawberry. But not as bad as the last time I was there.

Family day at Brighton Saturday, my boy crushed it. Rode Explorer probably 10 times and had a blast. Didn't even need the ropes. I was able to get 1 good run off Great Western at the end of the day. Snow was dumping all day long, will be something I remember forever.

Man I hope there is anything left by 9 - 14 APR.

It’ll be fun regardless, I love the Bird. Steep and unforgiving - just how I like them.

I’m headed up my hill today. Day 99. Late as hell. But sunny out here now and temps are rising quickly. Sad news.

But I did get a Jayden Daniel’s Saint candle while I was walking through downtown Bend yesterday randomly, so that might make up for all the new heat coming through.

Cheers yall

There are a bunch of good skiers in this thread.

I happen to not be one of them though.

Day 100 drop.

Below, please find a bunch of Bachelor liftys dispatching to work ~ 0800 hrs.

We ski/ride to our appointed lifts for work, thus, we always get first tracks.

Always.

Some first tracks are not always the best but they are still ours.

Cheers yall

Having a good snow day today and some cool temps for a few days. But looks to be pretty hot when you arrive. Hopefully another storm sneaks in.

I was at the bird last Thursday. Groomers were great, so we spent a lot of time racing in mineral basin. But the tree runs were the kind of slush that stops you in your tracks. Still a great day.

I saw where the Wasatch got a decent system last week. Exciting. Need that tax day pow system now.

Glad to also see that Mineral is back open again after a few weeks being shut down for maintenance?

got 9 inches yesterday at bogus basin, took a day off and went up with my wife (no pics) and enjoyed deep powder and no lift lines. stuff started to get super choppy and tracked out around 3pm. nice to get an april pow day that wasn't the heavy, wet snow. our closing weekend is april 19-20, will have to go to mammoth if I want to ski through late may.

I bombed the course today at practice. Four hours of snaking lines and catching air.

Competition tomorrow.

Gerry Lopez Big Wave Challenge

I’m rider 9. I guess 6 when I get inverted.

Whatever. Gonna win the whole she bang bang tomorrow.

Wish me luck.

Breck has been fun so far but F this elevation. One acclimation day, one day below tree line and on the third day I get to 12,000+ and I'm wrecked for the next three and thats after a full run of dexamethasone leading into the trip and for the first two days here.

Love the mountain and the town is cool. Next trip to Co for me will need to be somewhere lower like Vail or Aspen.
