@Snowbird for day 20 of my season.
Snowbird was worth it but I have IKON
I wouldn’t pay the spring day rate for the Bird but I’m a cheapskate.
Thick spots of heavy wet snow on launches that were super fast yesterday.
Found my spirit animal in the parking lot - Canadian tuxedo in the flesh.
I’ve made previous posts about the tuxedo so yeah.
Had to take a photo. The tuxedo is glorious.
A good friend of mine became an arborist - hung on to dear life to a tree top, until it snapped.
He kept the tree top.

Just a bump to inform that the spring skiing in Breckenridge continues with huge powder days both yesterday and today.Looks to be more than 13 inches of new snow on the slopes.

huge powder
Is it powder or heavy wet stuff? I may pull the gear back out of the basement and head up manana if it is fluffy.

Unfortunately, I am not in it. The Instagram posters I follow indicated it was good powder. Whatever it is, it beats the hell out of my work desk.

This storms looks like it will be it for me, huge ridge and melt oncoming. Wanted to do one more trip but work made it impossible, already pondering a few trips for next season though.
Was a great season....31 days, 17 mountains, 4 states and 1 province
Steamboat 4 days, Sun Peaks 3, Snowmass 3, Big Sky 2, Copper 2, Deer Valley 2, Revelstoke 2, Whistler Blackcomb 2, A-Basin 2, Keystone 2, Aspen Highlands 1, Alta 1, Beaver Creek 1, Breckenridge 1, Bridger Bowl 1, Welch Village 1, Winter Park 1
2 huge 17 inch+ powder days at Revy and Steamboat are days I will never forget. Also had 8-12 inch powder days at Sun Peaks, Copper, Winter Park, Deer Valley and Bridger Bowl. More powder days than probably the last 3 previous seasons combined.
My budget for skiing won't be as big next year, going down to the base Ikon but going to try to hit Tahoe for my big trip.

Early morning in Mammoth Lakes. I'll be here for 2 days. They just changed the hours from 7:30-1 yesterday, and I'll probably get rained on, but should be an awesome June ride. Will report back after I leave.

Views from the drive in. 5.5 to 6 hours from LA, beautiful drive but Reno is way shorter.
Overall, I was very impressed with the resort. I would love to go back in peak season one year. The scenery around Mammoth is incredible. I stayed in Old Mammoth, which is a lot more laid back. It was perfect for what I was looking for.
They only had 2 bases open, The Mill and Main Lodge. Which was about 75/180 trails. There was actually more people there than I expected, but I never waited more than a minute for a lift.
My favorite thing about spring skiing is the long daylight hours. I was able to visit June Lake after day 1 and Convict Lake after day 2. I had some other hikes I would have loved to do, but a lot of roads were still closed.
As far as conditions, the snow was extremely firm until 9:30. Very loud when carving. But once it started to soften, it was really nice. I rode the lifts until closing both days and it held up the whole time. While I enjoyed the open blues and blacks, I typically spend all day in the trees. Found a nice forest off of chair 12 and rode it the last hours both days. It would be great on a pow day. Not super dense with some nice hills.
All in all it was a great closeout to the season, and now I only have to wait like 6 months. And I can cross June riding off my list
