Reading from park city's website on the lift and terrain status, looks like they're up to 34 trails open!

We have 17 lifts running and 34 trails open! 3 Kings terrain park open today with 21 features and 1 jump!

Update from Park City

Wish I had better news, it was hot today and supposed to be hot over the next few days, a lot of the runs are starting to get skiied out and the place is crowded. Saw multiple collisions, some involving kids on the hill today. They do have the snowmakers running around the clock and hope that they can get another chair and more runs open tomorrow. Ended the day with 36 trails open but about half are over in Canyon and the gondola connecting the two still isnt open, so it's basically functioning as 2 resorts right now.

This is what worries me. I've never been so how do you get over to Canyon with the Quicksilver Gondola not open? Drive? Is there a shuttle?

Also, the 2 lifts that servoce Park City Village are at the end of where all of the runs funnel into a single run right by the ski school. Took ths from the lift earlier today.

This, look at my screenshot of my apps from the previous page and get the myStop app. It’s for PC transit and it’s fantastic. You can look at live locations of the buses and decide in the colored route you want to take and even get notifications sent to your phone when the bus is getting close. We used it a lot last season on our PC trip and we’re very pleased with the app and the transit system as a whole.

That the bottom of homerun? They didn’t do ski school up that far last season but it might be because of snow conditions. When we went all 348 trails were open. Ski school was between bottom of first time and bottom of crescent. But there was a lot of ski schoolers all over the mountain so like I said I guess with limited terrain open they’re concentrated on home run.

This was a little but higher up, where Homerun and Lower Silver Skis meet.

Ski school is currently near where Homerun and (closed) Silver Hollow meet.

The week before Christmas is looking pretty solid, hell even Park City might be able to open up a few runs.

Just looking at the southwest, WA State will do well through next week.

So for early in the week, going to be sunny and a little warm but it's quickly going to give way to more storminess come end of the week.

Getting some cross polar flow from Siberia by Christmas, bringing some frigid air into NW Canada.

Eventually this should work it's way down and east, at least over the northern half of the country to start the new year.

In general, looks pretty good for the west till new years. Then, questions arise to the pattern.

Question for you pros. Never been to Colorado, or skiing for that matter, but whatever. Family of four plus two inlaws. Most of the shuttle companies assume Denver - Destination and back itineraries. We are going to do a couple days in Denver before heading to Beaver Creek. Do y'all know which services would do Denver hotel pickup? Or do they all do it if I ask?

Thanks,

Since you're skiing Beaver Creek, do you have an epic pass? You can get like 15% off the epic shuttle if you do. I would just do that. Pretty sure they'll swing by your hotel in DEN

Duke, are you saying that the models look to be snow-light after new years, or that it’s just too far out to have a clear signal at the moment?

Too far out. Theres a lot happening right now that's going to change the pattern but its uncertain how itll play out. It could be a productive regime, with waves coming out of the NW or not so productive.

quote:

Copper was insane yesterday btw. I can’t believe how much terrain they have open. TONS of soft snow in the moguls.

Copper has been feasting on some of the shittiest weather set ups for them. WSW wind? 6", just cuz. Big moist winter storm? 6" but we'll get another 4" just off the wind after a storm. Going to be getting out there myself after the Christmas rush dies down.

The lowest price I'm getting from them is $1,000 one way to the airport

Pretty sure that's shared as well. Not even close to competitive. They don't do hotel pickup according to website. Just gonna have to go through all the other options.

For 6 people, you're either going to have to rent a SUV/van or pay a private shuttle. Either way, I think $800 would be the absolute floor RT. I would expect somewhere near $1k or so. I'm usually solo or with 1 other person though, so I may not be the best source in your case.

Ya I'm seeing $470 one way shared shuttle or about $600 in an SUV.

A minivan for the week is $1,200. Full size SUV $1,500

Had another pretty good day at Crystal today. Rained yesterday at the base, snow up top so bottom was a bit icy, mid mountain was wet packed powder, and it was fluffy powder up top. Legs are pretty beat from that wet powder

Finally got a decent view of Mt. Rainier today
