Looking at Hill Country, but open to other suggestions. Looking to get away for a few days and do a quick hiking/backpacking trip. Enchanted Rock looks like a prime candidate, but open to any suggestions thanks.

Enchanted rock is nice but it's a quick little hike. Perdenales state park has 20 miles of hiking trails that would be a good 2 day hike with remote camp out. But to do real hiking, go to Big Bend. It's a longer drive but well worth it.

Thanks, didn't realize Enchanted Rock was so small. Might look at Perdenales.
And Big Bend is just a bit too far out due to time constraints, but definitely on the list.

The lone star trail runs just north of Houston. I've never hiked it but think it's close to 100 miles.

Matagorda Peninsula. 30 mile undeveloped peninsula - bay on one side and gulf on the other.

Not too hot for you already?!
The wild azalea trail is in the middle of Louisiana....what's that? 5-6 hours?
Edit: 3.5 hours
