Well Roku has the biggest market share, so that's certainly an option. There are others as well.

fire stick

Probably the cheapest option.

If you are willing to spend a few more bucks, I'd look at Roku. I have a mix in my house and I prefer the Roku interface to the fire devices. The fire stick tends to shove Amazon's content in front of other apps that you use every day. On the Roku, I can order the apps the way I want and that is all that is on my home screen. With the Fire Sticks, your home screen is your apps kinda mixed in with Amazon content so i prefer to open my roku, click directly to HBOGO or netflix or AT&T Now as opposed to looking at the Prime stuff. It really isn't a hassle with the fire stick, but my preference is roku.

I don't know the answer to that but I can answer that I stream YouTube TV on an Apple TV.

So you just buy the apple tv and plug into the usb? no ongoing fees or anything after that?

hdmi works

Dumb question maybe, but does the roku unit have built in wifi or does it need to be connected to another device?

roku/firestick/apple tv are all general streaming media players. they interface with hdmi and have built-in wifi that connects to your router....

device price depends on the model you buy and sales can help. There is no ongoing fee for Roku. You just pay for the content you view: e.g. hobogo, youtubetv, netflix, hulu, etc
