And it is glorious.
No leaving and launching the ESPN app. All the + and Unlimited games right there in the guide

I just noticed that! It was the biggest thing I missed when I switched from Sling to YouTube TV a few years ago.

I signed up for the merge or whatever a couple weeks ago, then cancelled my ESPN+ (renamed Select) as redundant.
They added the ESPN Unlimited waaaay down at the bottom of my YouTube TV channel guide. I went in on my iPad and slid it up with the other ESPN channels.
It worked great yesterday when I tested it for the first time.

I don't have YouTube TV, but I do have ESPN amd Sling, but I can't get games on NBC and most likely CBS without switching apps. Should I jist bite the bullet and get YouTube TV?

They have lots of different packages now, and the best UI, so I vote yes

The lack of ABC/CBS/NBC is why I switched from Sling to YouTube TV. I don’t have any regrets.

If you have YouTubeTV and your package includes ESPN, you can "merge" your ESPN account with it to get free ESPN Unlimited (tons of streaming games and shows that you used to have to go through the ESPN app for, or maybe had to pay extra for through ESPN+).
Google how to do the merge of ESPN and YouTubeTV. There are lots of articles. Mine was easily done, but some have issues and have to try different ways, so I hesitate to say something is "the way."
Here is one article with step by step. LINK
Or go to YouTube and search: how to merge youtubetv and espn unlimited. Many vids come up.

Is this linking procedure how you watch SEC+ via YouTubeTV now?
