Is it just me or does YouTube no longer allow us to delete our comments? They allow the option to edit, but the delete option does not work for me.
Also, I have now noticed that I no longer have the option to remove a comment in a live chat. This actually bothers me more. If they changed this does anybody know why? It's like they don't want you to correct a mistake. Just now I was watching a livestream from behind and made a comment that was no longer relevant to the live video, so I wanted to remove it. However, I could not.

Have you tried on PC. I don't know the answer by maybe it's possible.

On the app, I can't remove my comment in a live stream chat even though I'm a mod. If I use a browser on the tablet, I can delete my comments in chat.

Yes you can but why delete? Let the comments fly. It brings engagement which brings watch time

Possibly relevant, but Google randomly changes features in the app of random users to test it out and you may be an unwitting tester of that feature.
For example, I used to be able to mute YouTube shorts. Then randomly last week the little volume button completely disappeared and I have no mute function whatsoever.
