Wink alternatives

Apparently I’m late to the party and just realized wink went to subscription. I don’t know how you can legally do what they’re doing but whatever. I really liked their easy to use app and setup. I only have four lights on a schedule. What is a good non subscription based hub similar to the wink that will run my lightify lights?

Samsung SmartThings would be the simplest.

I'm being placed into a witness protection program.

Have you seen all the new integrations Wink is planning? They may actually come out pretty good if they can survive the next few months.

I have wink and have been looking at alternatives. Hubitat looks like the best but confusing to setup and smartthings seems be not as reliable.

I've got one and was going to use in place of Wink, but the setup is a pain in the arse. I do like it though that I got it to play "Intruder detected - police have been dispatched" through all my Sonos speakers when door sensors are activated

i know cad's endorsement is the kiss of death but i've been loving the hubitat experience. it would be 100% local and wouldn't depend on a connected internet connection at all if it wasn't for the hue and alexa integrations.
still cool i can pull out my phone or jump on my PC and put in a local IP address and control 80% of my house without a cloud in sight.
and yes, having the sonos speak in various voices and talk shite to your family is a little too fun.

control 4 is nice but way to much money

You can look into home assistant. It’s kind of a pain in the arse, but most of the stuff is controlled locally instead of a “cloud”

Ordered the hubitat last night after watching some videos doesn't look as hard as I thought will give it a try.

Got everything setup on hubitat definitely a learning curve coming from wink. Didn't have any major problems with adding stuff to it, the hardest thing to add was wink relays and they only took 20 minutes. Watching YouTube videos while waiting on shipping really helped me understand their system. Also their community is very helpful and most problems have easy fixes if you look around in community. I really like the speed and capability of it so far. Having local control over everything is a something that I like also. Overall very good device with learning curve but not hard to once you figure out the system. Thanks to all for recommending it and frick Wink. CAD this almost makes up for c almost.

i'll answer questions and talk about what i'm using but will never EVER recommend another product.
