I have a Creality CR-10 (40 cm max height), and am very pleased with it.

I have done quite a few prints now. They have all come out very nice.

I have a Prusa MK3. It's a lot of fun. Built mine from the kit format, got to learn a lot about how it works that way. Thingiverse BoWs are great place to get ideas.

Yeah. I really like Thingiverse. I am a teacher and I have used the printer thus far mostly to make models for class. Thingiverse's many files allows me to simplify some models into just some parts, which is nice.

The Ctealiry CR-10 is a build it yourself kit too, and there is a strong online community, so that helps.

Qs:

-What is your slicer program?

-What filament types can you print with, and what do you normally print with?

-What was your longest print?

I use PrusaControl, Slic3r, and Simplify3D. PrusaControl is basically a stripped slic3r, made it easy to learn as it strips out all advanced settings, some of it's simpler options have produced better prints than regular Slic3r too. Simplify3D is world's better than both, ended up buying it after I learned I would use the printer a lot.

PLA, ABS, and PETG. PLA is my standard print, I use ABS for some things because of ABS smoothing. PETG is good for very strong prints, print all my upgrades and replacement parts for my printer in PETG.

8-12 hour range.

I was at the SPIE Conference in Orlando last week. Saw some really cool defense products created with those. Also, not Epilog, but one the coolest things I saw was in the Canon booth. They have created a laser barcode printer that etches in barcodes that are only 30 microns square. Applications for imprinting and tracking lots of small items are limitless.

Interesting

I was thinking about starting an engraving side business out of my garage when I get home. It's a long way off but I think it could be a decent side gig.

You can get decent ones for just a few hundred now. Not really a brag anymore.

Don't think so without modification. Donatello was printed as separate pieces and assembled.

I have a couple. Still trying to get the hang of them. I bought a cheap kit and printed parts to upgrade it. I also bout an Ender 2. Pretty nice little printer. I now am printing parts to build an MPCNC. I really want to start carving wood.

It can if you buy the multiple material upgrade, that's more of a commercial thing though because the waste is high purging to different colors. Mine was done using ABS gluing though, ABS melts with acetone application. So you can glue it together and if you use acetone vapors, you can actually smooth it.

I have a monoprice Maker Select Plus. No complaints. Works great. Have the occasional failed print but that is common with any printer.
