Lenovo Thinkpad 13
Don't buy a Lenovo unless it is the old IBM-based ThinkPad. Their consumer products and support are dog shite.

I've had a ThinkPad and a Dell. Thinkpad was far superior IMO.

I'm no computer expert at all, but did just purchase for my wife an did a little research. That Dell has an i3 processor compared to an i5 in the Lenovo. Also, looks like the Dell only has 4 GB memory compared to 16 GB in the Lenovo. Why would the Dell be better? The price?
Maybe I misread something, but the $500 lenovo he linked looked like it had a Celeron, so I was basing it on that.
EDIT: Yeah, looked again. The specs are "Up to" an i5, but the $500 model has a celeron. Likewise, it can have "up to 16GB" but this model has 4GB. It also has an SSD whereas the Dell does not by default, but the Celeron would struggle in everything but the most basic of tasks.

Of course but ownership is what I'm talking about.
Dell was taken back to private with investors.
At least Michael Dell is American.
Lenovo makes a quality product. If it was still IBM that'd be my first choice.
