I've had my iphone 6 for almost 3 years and the camera is very messed up, it is running slowly and has a crack on the screen. I've been looking into getting a new one but they are all at least $700. I know there has to be a cheaper way where people refurbish them privately and sell them right? Ideally, I would like the 8 or the X. Thanks, tech board.

When did the renewing your contract for two years and get a new/newer phone for $200 total, end? Seems like this was the norm about 2+ years ago......now, you can't get anything for under the $700+ that the OP speaks of.

I don't even want a damn Iphone

You think the carriers were selling you a $700 phone for only $200? You've always paid full price for the phone over the course of a contract. The difference now is you see the cost of the phone and service seperate. Also if after 2 years you what to keep your phone instead of upgrading your bill goes down. With the old contracts you had to renew every chance you could or you were overpaying for a phone you had already paid for. If you use Android there are a ton of low cost options that work just as well as a flagship phone.
