What a crappy time to buy anything

Both used Pixel 4XL and Pixel 4a 5G have gone up about $40-$50 since February and there was literally *TWO* 4a 5G phones on Swappa to choose from and 6 4 XL phones. 
WTH? Last time I checked there was about 100 for sale of each version.
Should I just get a Oneplus 8 or Samsung so I can take advantage of Wifi6 and 5G without paying a premium for google?

How much are 4a 5Gs going for? I think I got mine brand new on release for like $350.

Camera I was looking at shot up 500 overnight putting it out of my range. I had it in the cart the night before and just didn't pull the trigger. Deleted, checked again...and boom.

I'm a Google Fi customer. It was the deal they were offering.
Let me double check that price.
Memory betrayed me. Was $350 after $150 off. Thought they threw in some Fi credit but don't think they did.

Don't have kids old enough for phones yet. My wife just sits on her dad's family plan and we send money for the bill (ya I know), and I stay on Google Fi because I'm cheap and can get my bill around $30.
She has an iphone and I believe those are still limited on Google Fi. Haven't looked into it.
I would have started our own family plan if not for the iPhone/Google Fi situation. I like not thinking about international issues too.

raised the price of their virtual pinball machines from $549 to $849 and the premium'' MDF arcade cabinets from $399 to $699 (like the new simpsons cabinet)
before you ask..no, they didn't move from the crappy 17" monitor to 20" or add premium controls or lots of additional games. no..they just..decided to sell you the same crappy product for $300 more.
they just lost their entire rabid customer base. atgames legends finna eat.

I've seen the 4a 5g for $420 and up on swappa.

5a is dropping this month.
Google announced last week it will roll out 6 and 6 pro, probably in October.
In other words, those phones are about to get cheaper

thats nice and all but i'm talking about it being a crappy time to buy something right now. October is 3 months away and with Google ending sales of the 4a 5G on their site, its driven the price of the used phones up.

i sure hope it hits soon w/ the rumored price of $450 because good 4a's are going for $409 and mint is going for $419 right now on swappa.
price would have to fall PRECIPITOUSLY down to like $250 for me to even consider a 4a vs 5a and we know that's not going to happen for several months. No guarantee even if released at the end of august the 5a will ship in the next couple months.
