I am looking for someone to help me finish a website that I need to get up and running very soon. I have it started but, I have basic skills when it comes to web design and I'm at a stopping point.
I don't want to use an online service.
I'm willing to pay.
Does anyone on this board have this type of experience and be willing to help me out. If not, can you point me to someone who can.
TIA

A custom site will probably run around $5,000 at a minimum.

You got more details? There are some really easy web hosts with wysiwyg editors.

You're nuts if you don't consider SquareSpace or Wix. They are $20/month and their software makes it super easy to build a high quality website.

I'm a developer with pretty good design skills so I could help out.
Note that I do agree with a couple posters above that there are fairly easy to use tools, especially if you have some skills in dev/ design. That said, I'm assuming you're trying to do something custom that one of those can't do, or do in a way you like.
Drop me some deets at atltiger10 at gmail or post something that can give us more context.

Bumping this…Also in need of someone to help upgrade our website and add content.
For reference, we are a tractor and lawn mower dealer who also handle implements, parts, outdoor power equipment and some hunting accessories. See hillseq.com for current site under construction.
Current website is in Wordpress format.
What’s a reasonable cost for this service?

I was in the same situation as you almost one year ago. While searching for LINK / services, I found this amazing platform that helped me tremendously to finish everything in time and have the best result. For example, I have less than three weeks to finish everything, and I just have some notes regarding the design I wanted. They understood my concept and wishes from the start and created the best final result. Sadly, it's a private project, so I can't show you the pictures, but it's something I could describe as unique, irresistible, and powerful.

I heard the same from my coworker. She loves it. I'm all WP, but I understand that WP requires a major learning curve, esp w/ today's themes/page-builders.

There are absolute rock stars on Fivver and Upwork.
Any sort of basic wordpress website should never cost more than $1,000 all in and if its a basic site with nothing weird, $500.
I have 4 wordpress websites and use guys on these two sites all the time. My number 1 advice is pay a premium for someone with rockstar reviews.

One static site for my company, one site for my moms company (those don't make money from the website)
Then I have 2 educational websites that do make money.

Wix is a really convenient platform, but good web design requires specialists. On the website, you can find web design services and SEO promotion, which will also be useful for you when you launch your site.
