Generally yes, you get what you pay for. That being said, unless you are comparing them next to each other, you wouldn't notice a deficiency with the Vizio.

I have the Vizio M70 and love it

I have a 43 inch right now hanging in a wall. It is probably 3-4 years old. Do you think the mount can hold a 50 inch?

Probably true in most cases, but not as much as the price difference would suggest.

I've got 6 year old Vizio and it has a great picture. Never had a problem with it. I'd buy the brand again with no hesitation.

I went look around and ended up at Best Buy. The guy told me to wait and buy online on Thursday. He said a 49" LG that is $800 right now will be around $500. He said visions will be on sale too but he doesn't know how much yet and that it will be the d series not the m series. What do y'all think about LG?

You have to compare like models. I'll take a Vizio M series over a Samsung 3 series any day. Samsung has better high end sets, but at a much higher cost.

What do y'all think about LG?

I have had two just stop working. The last one was fixed under warranty. Outside of a year from purchase, but within a year from repair, it stopped again. They will not fix it. frick LG.
