Ok. I'm sorry I'm new to this and don't know any better. It was the latest episode. I'm still trying to figure out how to get local tv.

Does anyone have any experience with Playon Tv
I bought it about 15 minutes ago. I won't be using the DVR feature at all, but I can now use my HTPC as a particularly functional streaming device without the use of a keyboard- I have it set to where I access it through KODI so that essentially all the major (legal) streaming content I have paid access to can be had through a simple interface that even a fool could use. It's pretty functional, but the setup does require a little bit of time (you have to log in to EACH streaming service you want to use, which is a process I'm not quite through with yet).
But Amazon Prime and Netflix works/looks great through it.
ETA: It's apparently not without flaw. You can fastforward, but it doesn't seem to re-buffer when you attempt to skip ahead, so it seems as if skipping to the halfway mark of a TV show/movie you're in the middle of watching wouldn't be possible unless you had previously paused it there. This is a new-user's observation though, there may be an explanation somewhere on the web. I haven't really looked, but this is at least a concern.

You guys know that stuff like Genesis and Exodus on Kodi aren't legal right?
Posted on 2/27/16 at 11:37 pm to LSU Jonno
Lol
There's nothing illegal about streaming

Is anyone else having problems with exodus today?

Are you being serious?

Well good luck with that ...
For the newb cord cutters on here, you should investigate exactly what you are doing with Kodi to get free shite.

Well why don't you tell the newb cord cutters what they are doing instead of making them jump through hoops trying to find out...

Legal magic boxes that circumvent paying for content don't exist. If you are accessing content that you didn't pay for then you are doing so illegally.
I'm not trying to talk from some moral high ground, I just don't think the majority of Kodi users understand what they are doing. Yet the people that fine you won't care.
If you don't jump through hoops to figure out how to not get caught, you will get caught. There is not a simple concise message board post that can explain this to you.
Either spend the money to do this legally or spend the time to learn how to not get caught.
Here is the legal way:

You can replace "BitTorrent Traffic" with "piracy vehicle du jour" and the article is still relevant.
Those just scratch the surface. Read a lot of lifehacker.

Is there a way to watch Fox News for the debate tonight? We use SlingTV, and I'd like something similar to that where I can pay for it, and would like to avoid Kodi.
*edit*
It actually looks as though they will be streaming it live from their site.

I got a Tablo earlier this week, and so far I'm loving it. As expected, the live viewing experience isn't great with the 10 seconds of lag when switching channels, but as a DVR I don't think I can ask for much more. The experience is just so far beyond my cable box DVR, especially since I can watch my recordings on any device from anywhere.
Between the Tablo, Netflix, and Amazon (and Sling for football season), I've got way more content than I can possibly watch. I still have cable at this point because wife, but I think I've just about got her on board with dropping it. I think if I pick up Hulu she will be golden. So I guess I have a question for those who have Hulu: does it basically replace a DVR for you, or are there still some gaps it doesn't fill? Do you also subscribe to CBS All Access?
I'm sort of feeling like the Tablo might be a waste if I get Hulu. But on the other hand, it might still be worth it if only to watch certain shows the day they air, plus adding pause/rewind to sports.

I have in the past. I only subscribe during the summer for Big Brother live feeds.
If you want, there's a 7 day free sub to check it out. It's not available on 1st gen fire sticks.

Yes, but not all the way depending on what you watch.
Obviously you can't watch CBS shows and AMC shows. We use Kodi to watch Big Bang Theory and wife uses it for The Walking Dead. Both of these shows could be watched live, with antenna and SLingtv, but with two little ones, live tv is impossible before 8:30
If there aren't many shows you watch outside of what Hulu offers, you can always just buy episodes on Prime or Vudu.
I was looking at getting the Tablo but thought it would be a waste, and it is for the most part if you have Hulu.
If you don't want to use Kodi, and you would spend more buying episodes than it cost to use Tablo's DVR service, then yeah you kind of need the Tablo if you watch a lot of CBS, some FOX and AMC shows and cant watch them live.
