WTF. I've had playlists for years (local, on my NAS.) They were on my iPhone, until I canceled Apple Music last week. Now all of the contents, the playlists, everything is gone, and it just asks me to re-sub to Apple Music. Again, content that is local, not streaming.

I can still see all the content in my library on Apple Music. But trying to transfer stuff from my local library prompts me to subscribe to Apple Music or F off. iTunes Match subscription for local music? I don't want to match it to iCloud, I want to listen to the same shite I had on my MP3 player 15 years ago, that I already own.

Amazon Music didn't do this (yet,) but it also doesn't scan my library correctly, and doesn't import playlists. Disaster all 'round. I don't want a Spotify playlist, I want Slipknot, etc. in a certain order. Old man yells at clouds.

Yeah I've had an Apple Music subscription for years, and also have the iTunes Match. Back 15 years or so ago I was able to have Apple Music "legitimize" all my pirated music from my college days by subscribing to iTunes Match.

I still pay once a year for Apple Music and Match, and am afraid to cancel because of exactly what you described- losing the ability to listen to my music that is downloaded to my phone.

Get this: The phone won't connect to at least a Windows PC if the phone has a VPN active. To transfer local files over USB . I turned off the VPN, and magically it connects.
