My main TV in the front is reading "no signal". I have a cable box hooked to it from a HDMI cord. The TV sees something is plugged in because if I move it to another port it will say something is hooked up to HDMI 2 would I like to switch. You see it highlighted as being the only thing with something hooked to it. I did a few things like unplugging the box and switching cords with no luck so I grabbed the TV from my room and it works fine. Its been this way for a couple of weeks. I come here to ask if there is something I am missing before I have to get a new TV. Its just odd to me that it shows something is hooked up but it just isnt reading it for some reason. Thanks

Try the other HDMI port then try a different cable.

then call comcast and tell them to send you a new box if that doesn't work.

I did both of those. It works great on the same cable on the other tv. It just sucks that I have this little arse TV in front of my nice one. Hell I want to watch a movie but duck that not on this thing.

Read up on how to do a hard reset of the TV .. sounds like a resolution issue if none of your HDMI connections are working. Also, check your cable box to see what resolution it is set to. Wrong resolution settings could make it work on one TV and not another.

The thing is that it reads it as something is hooked up, but yeah I will try that resolution thing and then do a reset. Thanks.

Stupid question, I know... but you DID try the different inputs (from the menu) on your TV? Not still set to Antenna or Cable or something like that? Sometimes problems have the most basic answer when we are looking for something harder...

Had my current TV bug out and do nothing but power up. Tried everything and finally bought another only to have old reliable suddenly start working after being unplugged for about a week. Don't even know why I plugged it back in?

So back to Best-buy with the new.

I was a Sears electronic service technician for 32 years. It amazed me how many strange problems were fixed by simply unplugging something for a few minutes and plugging back in and turning it back on.

If I'm ever on life support, unplug me.

Then plug me back in, see if that works.
