and it has been a total nightmare. Had an appointment from 8-12 thurs. Tech. called and said he was way behind and wouldn't be there until 5pm. Called back later and said wouldn't be able to make it all, but another tech was coming to install. No one ever showed up. So fri. morning went back to at&t store to find out whats going on and they scheduled another appointment for Sat morning 8-12 but said they would try to get someone there that day. About an hour later a tech called and said he would be there in 30 minutes to install. About 30 minutes later he called back and said his boss just took him off the job and sent him to another job because our appointment wasn't until sat morning. Got in touch with the boss that made the change and was told he would look into it and see what he could do and he would call me back. All day and no call back. 10am sat morning called customer service and was told the only appointment they showed was for Thurs. Dec. 13. I said thats impossible i watched the guy make the appointment for sat morning, someone must have changed it without saying anything. I was told I would get a call back from a manager that day (sat) to try to resolve this. I told them to add in the notes that if I didn't get a call back today, I would cancel the order all together and go with another provider. I was assured I would get a call back. All day no call back again. I've never been through anything like this, so much incompetence and bullshite. Has anyone else experienced anything like this level of bullshite with at&t?

Yes

This is basically standard for AT&T. They've ruined DirecTV.

Just cross your fingers that when they do whatever they're supposed to do you won't need to deal with them again for a year. The installers and tech dudes are usually good/helpful when they come out, but it's a pain in the arse up to that point.

You fricked up by going to get another appointment...DTV uses 3rd party installers these days and you were still on the books for previous appointment until you made a new one

And yes, AT&T is a complete fricking joke...I moved and was ready to cancel until they made an offer I absolutely could not refuse

Ok, didn't know this. I will remember not to make another one.

Yeah, typically when the installer calls you for appointment adjustments that is sort of like your personal guy...you should be able to call him directly to discuss appointment times

Switched from U-verse back to Direct last week. Installer came out & basically hooked up direct boxes to U-verse lines. Said everything was good to go. After dicking around with the remote for awhile, I’m getting no on-demand services & no 4K content.
Called customer service & was passed around for 4 hours with no resolution.
Called back the next day & they made another appt, installer came out & told me that the 4K satellite was down and would be another week and a half before it is back up. Still no explanation for not having on-demand.
AT&T is a fricking joke.

Direct TV's 4K service is a waste of money. Very little content and the 4K genie causes problems with other receivers in your house. I cancelled after 3 months

I have Uverse TV and Internet and recently moved. I scheduled the move a month in advance with AT&T and was set to have it installed this Monday. After almost all the time had expired for my installation window, I checked my account and I had an alert that my installation was delayed. Needless to say I was pissed after I took 4 hours of leave, had paid a bill two days before with no alerts on my account, and no alert from AT&T. I started with Chat, but ended up closing it and they called me right back. After two or three hand offs to different department, I finally got technical services. They couldn't provide an explanation, but did waive all fees and gave me a monthly credit on my account for 2 years. I'm rescheduled for this Saturday, so we'll see what happens.

Att/dtv....don’t do it. There are multiple threads of complaints about the “no fricks given” customer service! They are expensive and give little help to settle or fix an issue.
