Looking to watch an old movie. Found it on some torrent sites. I haven't downloaded from a torrent in years. Seems they all want you to create an account and verify with a credit card. I do not want to have credit card compromised. Is this the new norm? Any sites specifically recommended?

I have never had to put in any personal data. Definitely not normal.

Absolutely not. Use a public tracker. Pirate Bay or rarbg usually. It's a scam.

I haven't used torrents in years either. I can't imagine a movie that I can't find on Kodi.

What addons are you using? I fired up Kodi for the first time in a long time and most of the addons are dead.

this..even with ridiculous download, you're at the mercy of the upload and likely throttled by your own LAN..I can just download a solid 1080/2160 file in a few minutes and have it forever to watch via Plex

nothing worth sharing that you couldn't just download yourself..I really clean it out every few months and find myself downloading TV shows more than anything

The old Kodi may have a problem with hd quality. But once I went to the durex build it just works and damn near everything I search for now has at least 720p links.

The old Kodi sucks. New durex kodi has been very impressive. Now I just go to the movie section and don't even choose a plugin.... just search the movie and it uses all the plugins to find the right one.

Between Durex Kodi and Vader streams, I'm 100% complete on everything I want to watch and about 1m% on sh!t I don't care about watching.

no shite!

we're all over here replacing our 1080p library with 4K..except the evil empire (Comcast) dramatically limits how many we can 'improve the quality on' within a given month.

i swear i'm going to just pay for unlimited data for a month and spend 24/7 that entire month doing nothing except moving everything from 1080 to 4K.

you joke, but when I first got my GB, I downloaded so much trash I had to run a duplicate finder to get rid of the 2nd and 3rd versions of some shows

CAD703X still dealing with the evil empire

I swear if AT&T fiber or any other fiber gets offered with the unlimited data in your area you will be at comcast the next day canceling that service

AT&T fiber hitting my area was the greatest timed event ever. Comcast started that stupid data cap crap the very same month At&T dropped the fiber in my area with unlimited data for like 10 bucks more with like 10 times faster download speeds. One great day calling Comcast and telling them to cancel that service

Your day is coming CAD . im hoping its right around the corner for you .

No, in 2012 I cared about building a library to watch mostly set around what my kids watched. Now, there isn't much I honestly care to watch. 720p is more than decent enough for the crap movies we have now. 4k is a waste of my bandwidth considering I only get 1td/mth even with the gig speed Comcast offers.

I honestly can't think of one movie that would be worth it to me to have to deal with a full size movie at 4k.

But then again, I've been on the cord cutting train so long, I'm just happy to have dvd quality now without pixels.
