Windows is awesome if you like tweaking software and open source.

I was going to ask if you were mentally challenged, but this statement confirmed it. Windows isn't for tweaking software and open source. That's linux, obviously

If you can't use Windows, you probably should be using computers

I used to be a Windows 7 only person. That was because 8 was such an idiotic change. Now I've fully embraced Win 10 and I can say it is much better. Once you click show desktop, it will run just like a window 7 computer but with even more stability and speed.

I'm completely turned off by trying to force everyone into tablet mode which is what 8 pretty much attempted. And I have all the telemetry things turned off, but I'm sure in this age of govt/big business they don't really care nor are they hindered to enter anything attached to the net.

Just FYI, Microsoft is STILL giving out free Win7 -> Win10 upgrades.

I upgraded several computers with legit Windows 7 Pro licenses to Windows 10 on January 18, 2019 and they all automatically activated. Simply download the upgrade tool on your Win7 machine and go through the steps.

I've gone down this road before installing Mint or Ubuntu for people but it mostly wound up backfiring in that I became their tech support. Even file organization is noticeably less intuitive for many end users.

I use Macs at home and when I'm deploying servers I prefer Linux but Windows 10 is a great desktop OS, very stable, versatile, intuitive, and usually worth the price.
