I have an old MacBook Air that works just fine. However I'm not sure how much use you are going to get out of an "Apple Ecosystem" without an iPhone. That seems like step one to me.
Yeah. The only way to make using Apple worth it is to fully commit to their ecosystem. That's the real advantage of Apple products (and you pay for this ability)

No you won't. It's nothing to it plus You'll enjoy all the benefits of switching

I have all Apple products, except Apple TV. I hate the Remote where you just move your finger around the pad
Roku is so much more user-friendly.

It's not an absolute, I'm just saying that you'll miss out on some of the benefits if you don't go all in. I used Chrome for years before relenting and going to Safari. Occasionally I have to open Chrome to get something to work correctly, but overall it's been an upgrade.
I certainly use some things intentionally outside of Apple - I traded an AWU in for a Garmin because the Garmin is just better for running. I lost some utility with it. I tried to go all in on Apple Music but I gave up and went back to Spotify.
But I think the general rule applies - the more you give in and go Apple, the more you can can maximize the utility.

Suppose that makes sense
Well I got the macbook air m4. I don't really have enough of an opinion on it yet as I'm just using it as a web browser right now.
I'll fiddle around with some of the other stuff this weekend.
